How to Download & Test Darshan

Darshan is currently in Google Play Closed Testing. Because Google restricts direct downloads during closed beta, you must join our free Google Group first with your Google account to unlock access on the Play Store.

Sign in to your Google Account

Ensure your browser is logged into the same Google account used on your Android phone.

Google Groups and Google Play require your Google account to verify tester permissions.

⚠️Common Error: “You don't have permission to access this content”

If you click the group link and see this error:

For access, try contacting the group's owners and managers
👉 Why this happens & How to fix:
  • You are not signed in: Look at the top right corner of the page.
  • Click the blue Sign in button in Google Groups.
  • Log in with your Gmail/Google account (the same one on your Android phone).
  • Once signed in, the permission error will disappear and you will see the Join Group button!

Join the Testers Google Group

This instantly adds your Google account to the authorized testers list.

Click the button below to open the official Google Group:

Inside Google Groups:

  1. Click the “Join Group” button (or “Ask to join group”).
  2. Choose your subscription preference (e.g. “No email” or “Digest”) and confirm.
  3. You are now authorized to download Darshan from Google Play!

Download Darshan on Google Play Store

Install the application onto your Android camera phone.

After joining the group, open Google Play Store using either of the links below on your Android device:

⚡ Play Store Tip: If Google Play still shows “Item not found” or “App unavailable”, wait 1–2 minutes for Google servers to sync your group membership, or open the link in your phone's Chrome browser while logged in.

Frequently Asked Questions & Troubleshooting

❓ Why do I need to join a Google Group?

Google Play requires early-stage apps to conduct Closed Testing with an invite group before public release. Joining the Google Group automatically whitelists your Google account with Google Play.

❓ I joined the group, but Google Play says “App unavailable”?

1. Make sure your Android device is logged in to the exact same Google Account you used to join the Google Group.
2. If you have multiple Google accounts on your phone, open the Play Store app, tap your profile picture in the top-right, and switch to the account that joined the group.
3. Google can take 1–3 minutes to sync permissions. Close and reopen the Play Store app.
